I. What kind of personal account products do you have?

We have a variety of products to suite every individual needs. We have specialized products for the following categories.

• Individuals – Salaried, Non Salaried, Youth, Minors.

• Business Banking and Corporate – Sole Proprietor, Partnership, Limited Companies, Schools, county government, NGOs, etc.

II. What do I need to open an account with DIB Bank Kenya?

We have different documentation for different categories as below:

  1. Personal Customers
 
  • Kenyan Nationals
  • Original and copy of ID or Passport (PP)
  • One coloured passport size photograph
  • Salaried – Payslip
  • Non-salaried – Source of income
  • Pin (Personal Identification Number) or TIN
  • Foreign National
  • Original and copy of PP or Alien Certificate
  • Valid Visa
  • One coloured passport size photograph for each signatory
  • Salaried – Payslip
  • Non-salaried – Source of income
  • Pin (Personal Identification Number) or TIN (Tax Identification Number)
Additional Requirements
  • Swag Youth
  • Student ID
  • Minors (Najma)
  • Birth Certificate
  1. Business and Corporate Banking Customers
  General Requirements for directors and signatories
  • PIN (Personal Identification Number) or TIN (Tax Identification Number)
  • Original and copy of ID, PP or Alien Certificate
  • One colored passport size photograph
General Requirements for the accounts
  • Certificate of Incorporation/Registration/Form CR 1 (original and copy)
  • Search fee as per tariff (for verification of company details at Company Registry)
  • Proof of physical/operating address for the business: either;
  • Current tenancy/lease agreement (in the name of the business)
  • Current utility bill i.e. electricity or water (in the name of the business)
  • Current trading license
  • Company Pin (Personal Identification Number) Certificate
  • KYC documents for corporate entities with a shareholding
  • Board resolution on the company letter head indicating decision to open the account, the appointed signatories and the signing instructions. Company seal to be included.
    Sole Proprietorship – Registered
  • Pin (Personal Identification Number) or TIN (Tax Identification Number)
  • Original and copy of ID, PP or Alien Certificate
  • Valid Visa for Foreign Nationals
  • One coloured passport size photograph for each signatory.
Partnership
  • KYC documents for each signatory
  • Partnership deed
Limited Liability Company
  • Memorandum of Association (original and copy)
  • Form CR 2 – For a Company Limited by shares
  • Form CR 3 – For a Company Limited by guarantee
  • Form CR 4 – For a company whose Liability is Unlimited.
  • Articles of Association – Model 3, 4 or 5. If the applicants do not adopt the above models, then they must provide their own articles.
  • Certificate of Compliance for Foreign Incorporated companies
  • KYC documents for each signatory
Societies, Clubs, NGO’s, Churches
  • For NGO’s, letter of reference from NGO board
  • For fundraising accounts with a valid fund-raising permit
  • For religious organizations, an introduction letter from the deemed head of the body
Trusts, Administrators, Executors, Liquidators
  • Letter of Probate/Administration
  • Trust Deed and Supplementary Deeds for any change in Trustees
  • Trust Resolution as specified in the Trust Deed
County Governments, Government of Kenya Departments, Parastatals, Research Bodies
  • Certified copy of by-laws for County Governments
  • Letter of authority from the respective Ministry signed by the Permanent Secretary and / or the Cabinet Secretary
  • For constituent bodies / boards within the Ministry – Gazette Notice / respective Act constituting it
  • Resolution or Minutes to open the account and signing mandates
  • Minutes to prove elected officials
