Role: Senior Manager, IT Infrastructure

Job Purpose
To provide strategic leadership and management of the organization’s IT infrastructure, ensuring the availability, security, scalability, and resilience of technology platforms that support business operations. The role oversees data centers, networks, servers, storage, cloud environments, and end-user technologies, ensuring alignment with business needs, regulatory requirements, and global best practices.
Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure Strategy & Planning
- •Develop and implement the IT infrastructure strategy in alignment with organizational objectives.
- •Lead infrastructure capacity planning, performance optimization, and lifecycle management.
- •Drive adoption of emerging technologies (e.g., cloud, virtualization, automation) to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- •Ensure infrastructure resilience through disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
Operations & Service Delivery
- •Oversee daily operations of IT infrastructure, including data centers, networks, servers, and cloud platforms.
- •Establish and monitor Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with internal users and external service providers.
- •Ensure high availability and reliability of infrastructure services.
- •Lead root cause analysis and continuous improvement of infrastructure performance.
Security & Compliance
- •Ensure IT infrastructure meets cybersecurity, regulatory, and compliance requirements (e.g., CBK ICT Guidelines, ISO 27001, PCI DSS).
- •Implement and monitor robust security controls to safeguard data, systems, and networks.
- •Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to mitigate infrastructure-related risks.
Vendor & Stakeholder Management
- •Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and performance for infrastructure products and services.
- •Lead negotiations to optimize costs and service quality.
- •Work closely with business leaders, risk, and audit teams to align infrastructure services with business requirements.
Leadership & Team Development
- •Lead, mentor, and develop the IT infrastructure team to achieve operational excellence.
- •Promote a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- •Manage budgets and ensure optimal utilization of resources.
Job Specification
Education
- •Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
- •Master’s degree in IT, Business Administration, or related discipline is an added advantage.
- •Professional certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, ITIL, VMware, AWS/Azure, or CISSP are highly desirable.
Work Experience
- •At least 10 years of progressive IT infrastructure experience, with 5 years in a senior managerial role.
- •Proven experience in managing enterprise infrastructure in banking/financial services or large corporate environments.
Key Skills & Competencies
- •Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure technologies (data centers, networking, cloud, storage, virtualization).
- •Excellent understanding of IT service management and governance frameworks (ITIL, COBIT).
- •Strong project management and vendor management skills.
- •Ability to balance technical and business priorities.
- •Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- •Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving and decision-making ability.
